I am a Liberal, by liberal I use the original meaning thus go by classical liberal if I have to and Libertarian for the even less informed.

I belong to no party and have never registered with a party.

I believe in Free Markets and I believe they provide the answers to seriously reducing poverty, unemployment, racism, sexism, homophobia, social conflict, and even war among states.

I also believe that the first thing all Libertarians should advocate is the elimination of the Income Tax by advocating the Fair Tax. The Fair Tax offers the best solution (with potential to get passed) to tax reform that has been proposed in years...it not only has the benefit of making transaction costs much cheaper but it has the ability to reign in federal spending by making the costs of government VERY VISIBLE to the voter! It also eliminates the major tax loopholes that the government exploited to create winners and losers in society, thus giving major power to special interests.

With special interests knocked down for the count and voters now very aware about how much government costs them it becomes rational for citizens to start demanding less government, more freedom, and more free trade.

one step at a time...the Fair Tax is that first step!
