Adam Smith's invisible hand is the classic embodiment of the libertarian perspective in a model of how the world work. Today, there is increasing interest among scientists in formally describing systems that behave in an ordered way without any centralized controlling entity. The control freaks and megalomaniacs will have trouble with this idea, but libertarians should find it intuitive.
