Nolan Chart
From Libertarian Wiki
The Nolan Chart plots economic and personal liberty on two axes. This allows one to distinguish between socialists (liberals in the U.S.), conservatives, and libertarians. The first image below shows the basic concept.
The Nolan Chart as used by the Advocates for Self Government divides this plane into five regions of equal area and labels them . Although it seems that most would see the merit of distinguishing between economic and personal freedom as using this to broadly distinguish between the left, the right, and libertarians, the actual division of this plane into regions becomes quite semantic, i.e. if you change the divisions with out changing how people are distributed then you are redefining the terms. Additionally, it is relative to any scoring metric used. Thus many people might disagree about where the lines should be drawn.
