Michael Francis Moore is a filmaker activist considered by some to be a socialist activist most known for his documentary films that promote Marxist causes, with heavy emphasis on making businesmen, mainstream politicians, and government agents look like fools. He has been a strong opponent of the Iraq War.

Among his un-Libertarian positions are his support for government control of people's health, and his strong support for Gun control.

Michael Moore has often come under criticism for dishonesty in his presentation. Focusing simply on his Gun-control movie Bowling for Columbine a short list of his dishonesty would include representing the factory Eric Harris' father worked at as a missile plant, editing together multiple speeches to make it appear as if the NRA was flaunting the events at their federally mandated meeting in Denver shortly after the events, representing the NRA as in anyway affiliated with the KKK at the time of it's founding, and organizing an interaction where he received a gun at a bank then representing it as the standard practices of that bank.
