Dues, etc.

The LPC is a UMP-II state, which means that a person joins both the LNC and the LPC with a single check and membership application. The LPC is subdivided into county parties. Members of the LPC are members of the one county party of their choice, usually the county that they live in.

According to the LPC bylaw 3, section 6, dues from national are shared between the LPC, which gets 40%, and counties, which get 60%. Because the LPC is under UMP-II, the LPC retains all but $13 of the first years dues if the member was recruited by the LPC. If the member was recruited by a county party, then the LPC passes this on to the county party.

To facilitate tracking of this, county parties should include a source code in the lower right of their membership coupons. The code is SC2003-03xx, where xx is the county code. For example, Orange County's code is SC2003-0330 because it is region 30.

As of May, 2005, there is no accounting for these dues. The county parties have been receiving estimates of UMP payments for several months.
