Idealism

Libertarian idealism is an outgrowth of libertarianism that seeks to create a vision of the social opportunities that freedom will make possible. This can serve as both a plan for developing social institutions to replace the state's role in society, and helps libertarianism appeal to those people who are primarily concerned with resolving social problems, and don't see how libertarianism is a vialable path to a healthy society. This idea is similar to that presented by John MacKey[1] and implemented in FLOW.

Some portions of the libertarian movement have been more focused on this than others, specifically it has been emphasized by pacifist and anarchist(anarcho-communist), libertarians.

Approaches to developing libertarian idealism may include:

  • The causes of crime and the rate of crime in a more free society
  • The causes of wealth accumulation, and the increased wealth of free societies
