Some say liberties and rights come from God. They preceded the US government and are inalienable -- if not sacred.

1) Unfortunately, many of the rights and liberties were articulated after 1600 and formulated into everyday practice after the American Revolution.

In the millennia when monarchs ruled by divine right, God neglected to communicate these rights through His earthly administrators.

2) Which are the sacrosanct rights? Is the right to a speedy trial a God given right? Or the right to remain silent? Or abortion rights?

3) If the 5th Amendment or right to consult an attorney are so basic, why does invoking them suggest guilt?
