The Wikipedia:Fourteen Points were presented by Woodrow Wilson at the end of World War I, presenting his ideas of a fair conclusion to the war. These proposals embodied the notion of national self-determination, free trade, and arms reduction as the foundation for peace. The desire of European powers such as Britian and France to impose harsh conditions on Germany is often cited as a source of the discontent that allowed the Nazis to gain power.
