These corporations and industry groups have lobbied for restrictions on our liberty. Some libertarians will not do business with them.

  • Motion Picture Industry of America
  • Recording Industry of America
  • Business Software Alliance: They are trying to make it easier for copyright investigators to force Internet Service Providers to provide customer names. This is not as insulting as other attempts to thrwart copyright infringement, but libertarians prefer to error on the side of privacy. [2]
  • True.com : A online dating service that is trying to shut down competing business models with government restrictions. [3]
  • Sony is suing in Australia to prohibit the modification of PlayStations because these modifications may allow Digital Rights Management technology to be circumvented.[4]. This modification is also useful for using games purchased legitmately overseas which are incompatable with local PlayStation machines due to DRM.
  • AT&T, Verizon, and BellSouth [5] for aiding the NSA in its attempts to spy on American citizens without a warrant.
  • Citgo gas stations, owned by the government of Venezuela, which is trying to stamp out liberty in Venezuela and neighboring countries.
