Ethics, from Hippocrates to Confucius

Hippocrates admonished physicians, "First, do no harm". Confucius penned the ethic of reciprocity, The Golden Rule.

Unlike physicians who at least try to minimize damage, many professions use a different ethic. Lawyers, tax collectors and political scientists attempt to cause the maximum harm that they can get away with.
