Bay Tea SHARE Share Host Activist Resource Engine)is a system under development by Bill Todd, chair of the LPOC,CA and others. It's purpose is to allow the counties of California access to the several databases of libertarians currently maintained by the Libertarian Party of California LPC.

Currently there are several databases:

  • The voter registration list available through Perry Political Data.
  • The National LP database. LPUS Database is probably a reasonably current description of the data. California receives monthly dumps of this database.
  • The LP of California database.

The first purpose of this system is to allow counties and candidates to access current data for their area. Each user would be given a username and password to access their data based on county or zip code or district. The data will be stored on a LAMP Server. Currently, Bill Todd is hosting this on his company's website. For this to work the LPC would have to set policies for access, and commit to uploading the data and/or updates regularly.

Later versions may include the ability of allowing regions to update the state database. However, this would require the LPC and counties to agree on policies and procedures.

The current intention is to release the software under the GNU General Public License, Version 3. Under this license, source code would be available and anyone would be able to support the code if the original developers are no longer available.
